Computer Science / Technology teacher for September 2022

Due to expansion of the school and moving to a new site, we are looking to appoint a talented and enthusiastic Computer Science / Technology teacher for our Senior section.

The British School Algiers, the first British international school in Algeria, opened in November 2020 following a joint agreement between the Algerian and British governments and we are now in our second year of operation. We are currently in the process of obtaining our BSO accreditation.

We are a 4 to 18 school, and we follow the English National Curriculum tailored to an International School setting.

Candidates must hold a PGCE or B.Ed. or equivalent and should also have experience of either teaching in the UK or an accredited British international school and be a UK national. The role is likely to involve teaching IGCSE and A-level Computer Science and possibly some DT for a suitably experienced candidate.

The successful candidate will have the ability to work collaboratively, building strong relationships with all members of the school community and be looking to develop their teaching career in an international setting. The person appointed must be ready to play their part in the continuing establishment of the ethos of this relatively new school. This post requires energetic and highly committed teachers who can motivate and inspire students to reach their maximum potential. BSA is also committed to a wide extra-curricular programme and an ability to offer more than classroom teaching would be important.

We are committed to ensuring excellent learning and teaching in a caring environment. British School Algiers is a rewarding and friendly place to work with good relationships between staff and students.

Algiers is a bustling, friendly, and cosmopolitan city on the Mediterranean, full of historical interest and within easy reach of the UK and Europe. Life for teachers is enjoyable with a low cost of living and a sufficiently good infrastructure, shops, cafes, and restaurants to lead a European lifestyle. Teachers are able to save a good proportion of their salary and, at the same time, enjoy exploring Algeria.
